Eloise

Eloise is a joyful, curious, and loving 2-year-old who brings so much happiness to everyone around her. Her family says life with Eloise has been beautifully transformative, teaching them that love comes in many forms. Through her, they've learned to celebrate every milestone, embrace life's little victories, and see the world through a different lens. She has made her family more compassionate, patient, and intentional, while showing them just how resilient they can be together.

One of Eloise's favorite things is food! She's an adventurous eater who loves fresh fruit like berries, kiwi, bananas, and mandarins, along with crunchy vegetables such as carrots and bell peppers. She enjoys family walks to the playground, where you'll usually find her smiling on the swings, racing to the slide, or splashing in the water. At home, she loves looking through books, playing with her Tiny People dolls, and spending time with her favorite person—her inseparable twin brother, Leone. Together, they fill their home with laughter, especially while dancing to The Wheels on the Bus and Rock-a-bye Your Bear.

Eloise was diagnosed with DLG4 SHINE Syndrome at 22 months after hypotonia was noticed shortly after birth. She works hard every day to overcome global developmental delays and attends occupational, physical, and speech therapy each week. She wears adaptive leg braces to support her growing confidence as she learns to walk. Eloise also navigates sensory processing challenges, gastroparesis, reflux, motion sickness, and occasional sleep difficulties, but her family has found routines and strategies that help her thrive.

Eloise reminds us that progress isn't measured by the size of a milestone, but by the determination behind every step. Her bright smile, adventurous spirit, and loving bond with her family make her a truly SHINEing Star.
