Help us reach our $20,000 End of Year Giving Goal to accelerate a cure for DLG4 SHINE Syndrome - our children deserve it!
#GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: A day that encourages people to do good. Over the past twelve years, it has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. And this Giving Tuesday, December 3rd, 2024, we are asking you to support DLG4 SHINE Foundation!
Over the last several years, hundreds of rare genes have been identified. One of these genes, DLG4, is responsible for creating a critical protein (PSD-95) that enables proper brain development and function. As a result, patients with a DLG4 SHINE Syndrome not only suffer from epilepsy, but a wide array of severe neurological symptoms, including intellectual disability, autism, speech delay or lack of speech, hypotonia, sleep disorders and behavior issues. Unless we develop a cure, our loved ones will require around-the-clock care for the rest of their lives.
Our children’s brains are being built every single day upon a poor foundation, and the sooner we can find a treatment that addresses the root cause, the more likely we are to be able to profoundly improve our children’s quality of life.
The DLG4 SHINE Foundation is a family run organization of people dedicated to finding treatments (and hopefully a cure) for DLG4 SHINE. We aim to locate every patient and researcher in the world and bring them together in a collaborative manner to make a difference for the DLG4 SHINE community!
There are three things we are asking of you:
