Combined Brain is a non-profit organization working to speed the path to clinical treatments for people with rare genetic neurological disorders. Each year, they coordinate events throughout the United States to provide rare disease families the opportunity to supply contributions for research. 

Why is Donating Blood for DLG4 SHINE Research Important?

Donating blood for research is an incredibly valuable contribution to advancing rare disease science. If you are willing and able to participate, this may also provide an opportunity to learn more about your child’s specific genetic variants.

 

While the foundation cannot guarantee that your child’s sample will be used in a research project, having samples available in our biorepository is essential—researchers can only request and study samples that are already collected and accessible.

 

Why this matters:

  • Researchers use these samples to understand DLG4 SHINE

  • That leads to better research

  • And moves us closer to treatments

 

It’s simple. It’s powerful. And it truly makes a difference.
