Valerie lives in Colorado Springs, CO, with her husband, Griffin, and their three wonderful daughters, including one remarkable SHINE kiddo. Together, she and Griffin run their own business, which provides the flexibility needed to support their daughter Jordan’s evolving needs.

With a strong background in nonprofit work, Valerie hopes to contribute meaningfully to fundraising and grant research efforts for the DLG4 SHINE Community. She studied Human Development and Family Studies at Auburn University and spent 15 years working in the nonprofit sector. Today, she dedicates much of her time to researching the best ways to support Jordan and other families within the SHINE community.
