Dana Opar

Dana Opar is the mother of two beautiful daughters. She and her husband noticed some challenges during their eldest daughter’s infancy that became more apparent during the toddler years. After many years of searching for answers to help their daughter (and receiving numerous diagnoses along the way), they finally received genetic testing results that provided clarity—DLG4-related Synaptopathy, or DLG4 SHINE.
As a marketing professional with fifteen years of experience helping organizations of all sizes develop and implement marketing plans, Dana was searching for a way to utilize her knowledge and expertise to help Eden and others like her. After receiving Eden’s diagnosis and connecting with like-minded parents on a mission to help find treatment for their DLG4 children, Dana knew this was part of her life’s purpose.
When Dana joined the Board, she was fascinated by the accomplishments that the Foundation had already made, but also envisioned opportunities that lie ahead. She initiated the Foundation’s rebranding efforts and website overhaul and is eager to continue awareness and fundraising campaigns for the DLG4 SHINE community.
