The 2025 DLG4 SHINE Scientific & Family Conference was packed with updates on current and previous projects as well as a glimpse at new potenail projects and potentially viable treatment options. Whether you attended the conference in-person, virtually, or are viewing the videos for the first time, we hope that you find the information valuable to understanding how our work with researchers is moving research forward for our loved ones.
Unraveling DLG4 in Synaptopathies: From Mechanism to Gene Therapy in SHINE Syndrome
(Scientific Session 3: Emerging Therapeutics - presentation 2)
Rami Aqeilan, the Jacob M. Eisenberg and Thomas W. Baylek Chair for Medical Research in the Field of Genetic Engineering and a Professor of Immunology and Cancer Research at the Lautenberg Center, Hebrew University, presents his work using AAV9-hSyn-hDLG4. Results demonstrate effective overexpression of PSD-95 in mouse brains, patient-derived neurons, and cerebral organoids and restoration of molecular and functional deficits in DLG4 mutant neuronal models.
